Stirling Autumn Sale 2012


Trade was brisk at the Autumn Society sale at Stirling on Tuesday 23rd October.

The pre-sale show was judged by Harold Stubbs from County Fermanagh.

Commercial trade dominated the sale with 81 Bulls selling to average £5806, an increase of £956 on the year, a clearance of 73% the highest of the week at Stirling.

Demand for quality female lines continued with 18 selling to average £3100 an increase of £384 on the year

Ten bulls sold to 10,000gns or more.

Overall Champion Kilbride Farm Comber - 20,000gns

Trade topped at 20,000gns for the Overall Champion Kilbride Farm Comber, a Cairnview Snazzy son out of a Seaview Prince Charming daughter bred by WH Robson and Sons and selling to the Popes Herd of Jimmy and Vikki Wood, Preston, Lancashire.

Corskie Callum - 18,000gns

Next best was Corskie Callum from Mr J Green, this Ballinalare Farm Knightrider son sold for18,000gns to Mr LD Quarm, Annick Lodge Estate

Annick Capercaillie - 16,000gns

Selling at 16,000gns from Mr LD Quarm was Annick Capercaillie, another Cairnview Snazzy son out of a Sterling Nelson 2nd daughter, he was purchased by Mr R McCulloch Overhill House Lanark.

Islavale Champ - 12,000gns

Pitgavanie Estate in Morayshire paid 12,000gns for Islavale Champ from Mr W S Stronach, a Glenturk Premier son out of a Raceview King daughter.

Team Celtic - 11,000gns

Next best at 11,000gns came Team Celtic from Mr R J MaGregor, an Auchorachan Winger son out of a Tilbrook Noble daughter, selling to Mr R King form Woilfstar.

Three bulls sold for 10,000gns

Newbiemains Boston - 10,000gns

Newbiemains Boston from Jim and Patricia Goldie Newbie mains Farm a son of Kilbride farm Rainman out of a Halenook Panache daughter sold to MR S Stephen Burnside of Idoch Aberdeenshire.

Delfur Chas - 10,000gns

Next came Delfur Chas from Delfure farms Morayshire, this son of Delfur Willie Wonka out of a Corrick Nero daughter selling to Mr J Hollingsworth Midhope Sheffield.

Drumsleed Cairo - 10,000gns

Last of the 10,000gns bulls was Drumsleed Cairo form Mr G W Smith Drumsleed, a Ashland Perfect son out of a Hockenhall Mathew daughter sold to A & J Craig, Craigton, Castle Douglas.

Woodhall Bernadette - 5,500gns

Topping the Female trade at 5500gns was the Female Champion Woodhall Bernadette from Mr H MaKaskill, Woodhall Innerwick Dunbar, a Corrick Kentuck Kid daughter she sold to Mr R McCulloch Overhill House Lanark.

Next best on the females was the second calver from Mr A J Wilson, this Annick Titan daughter with a Bruchag Awesome heifer calf at foot made 5200gns to J Duff and Son, Broomknowe, Brechin, Angus.
