Stirling October Bull Sales 19th & 20th October 2015

The breed enjoyed a tremendous trade at the Autumn show & sale at Stirling on the 19th & 20th October 2015. The pre-sale show being judged by President David Donnelly, Preserva ( Midlands ) Ltd, Atlow House Moss Lane, Hulland Ward, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 3FB

Topping trade on the day at 18,000gns was the Reserve Overall & Junior Champion Blackford Findhorn, bred by WG MacPherson, Blackford Farm, Croy, Inverness, Inverness-Shire, IV2 5PS, an April 2014 son of Hockenhull Waterloo, out of a Kilbride Farm Strabane daughter. 


Next best at 15,000gns, was the Supreme & Intermediate Champion Ranfurly Formula one F7, bred by Mr David Hazelton, Cohannon House, 25 Bovean Road, Dungannon, County Tyrone, N Ireland, BT71 6HR. A Carnkern Titan son, out of a Whitemire King Kong daughter, purchased by the Judge David Donnelly of the Atlow herd, Preserva ( Midlands ) Ltd, Atlow House Moss Lane, Hulland Ward, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 3FB


Two bulls then traded at 12,000gns, the first being Corskie First Caper, bred by WJJ Green, Corskie, Garmouth, Fochabers, Moray, IV32 7NN. The first son of the 45,000gns record priced Bel Dhu Capercaillie, a Popes Laird daughter purchased by Robinson Farms of the Lugdenhall herd, Lugden Hill Farm, Docking, Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE31 8PG


Following on also at 12,000gns Blackford Finch, bred by WG MacPherson, Blackford Farm, Croy, Inverness, Inverness-Shire, IV2 5PS, a full brother to our record priced Bel Dhu Capercaillie, by Hockenhull Waterloo and out of a Kilbride Farm Strabane daughter, selling to Snaigow Farms, Hillocks Of Clunie, Blairgowrie, Perth & Kinross, PH10 6RJ

First was Woodhall Freeman bred by Mr H Macaskill, Woodhall Farm, Innerwick, Dunbar, East Lothian, EH42 1SH, a Raceview All-star KK son out of an Annick Talisker daughter, purchased by Mr & Mrs M Ward of the Westridge herd, West Mains Farm, Newbigging, Carnwath, Lanark, Lanarkshire, ML11 8NB


Next, also at 11,000gns was Newbiemains Fame & Fortune bred by Jim & Patricia Goldie, Newbie Mains Farm, Annan, Dumfriesshire, DG12 5QY, a Newbiemains Apache son out of a Rathlee Trevor daughter, selling to A Dunbar of the Pitgaveny herd, Pitgaveny Farms, Pitgaveney, Elgin, Moray, IV30 5PQ


Again at 11,000gns was Islavale Fagan the Reserve Junior Champion, bred by Mr W S Stronach, Berryleys Farm, Grange, Keith, Banffshire, AB55 6LN, a Curaheen Bandit son out of a Glenturk Premier daughter, selling to Mr & Mrs P & J  Borlase of the Sacombe herd, Perrywood Farm, Watton-At-Stone, Nr Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG14 2RH.

Top price female on the day was Annick Sonia’s Whitney from Mr A J Wilson, Westcroft Farm, Lylestone Road, Kilwinning, Ayrshire, KA13 7QN, this 7 year old Cow by Celtic Rock with her April born Popes Barclay calf at foot sold for 5000gns to Heather Duff of the Pitmudie herd, Pitmudie Farm, By Brechin, Angus, DD9 7UH.
